However, it commenced its journey in 1923 as Hadfield’s (India) Limited with a single factory in Howrah, West Bengal, and subsequently underwent a series of transformations.

In 1947, it was acquired by British Paints (Holdings) Limited, UK, and was renamed British Paints (India) Limited. The rebranding to Berger Paints India Limited occurred in 1983. The company’s headquarters are located in Kolkata.

The company offers a wide range of products, categorised into various segments, including interior wall coatings, exterior wall coatings, exterior textures, metal finishes, wood finishes, undercoats, and waterproofing solutions.

Its brand portfolio features diverse offerings, including designer finishes such as Silk GlamArt Metallica, Silk GlamArt Metallica for Designs, Silk GlamArt Stones and Tones, and Silk GlamArt Stucco.

The company also provides interior emulsions like Silk Breathe Easy, Silk Glamor Matt, Silk Glow, and Silk Glamor Soft Sheen. In addition to interior wall distempers such as Bison Distemper.
