Hindalco Industries Limited serves as the esteemed metals flagship within the Aditya Birla Group. It is primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing and distribution of aluminium, copper and its products across the globe. It was incorporated in 1958 and is headquartered in Mumbai, India.

It operates through four segments: Novelis, Aluminium Upstream, Aluminium Downstream and Copper.


The Novelis segment specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of aluminium sheets and lightweight gauge products, with a global presence spanning North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.


The company is actively involved in the aluminium upstream business, such as bauxite and coal mining, alumina specials, refineries, metal and power. Its aluminium downstream business includes aluminium value-added products, such as flat rolled products, extrusion and foils.


The Copper segment includes copper cathode, copper rods, precious metals and di-ammonium phosphate. Its brands include Eternia, Maxloader, Hindalco Extrusions, Hindalco Everlast, Freshwrapp, Superwrap, and more. The company has over 33 overseas manufacturing facilities of Novelis and 21 Operational Mines.


Its subsidiary list is extensive and includes key players like Harish Cement Limited, Star Cement Co LLC located in Dubai, Arabian Cement Industry LLC based in Abu Dhabi, among others.
