Axis Bank Limited is an Indian multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was founded in 1993 as UTI Bank by the Unit Trust of India (UTI), LIC, GIC, and other partners. The bank was renamed Axis Bank in 2007.
It provides retail banking, Treasury operations, Corporate Banking and other Banking services. Its treasury operations invests in sovereign and corporate debt, trading operations, equity & mutual funds, derivative trading and foreign exchange operations.
The retail banking segment provides lending facilities to individuals and small businesses, ATM services, card services, mobile banking, internet banking, financial advisory services and NRI Services.
The corporate banking segment provides placements and syndication, advisory services, project appraisals, capital market-related services and cash management services to companies.
As of 31 March 2023, the bank owns a network of more than 4,900 branches and 15,900 ATMs.
