Why can I not see one or more of my holdings available for pledge?

There are several reasons why some of your holdings might not be available for pledging:

  • Exchange Ineligibility: Certain types of securities might not be eligible for pledging as determined by the stock exchange itself.
  • Full Haircut: If your holding experiences a significant event like a Corporate Action, then we might apply a 100% haircut. This means the entire value of the holding cannot be used as collateral, making it ineligible for pledging.
  • Open Sell Order: If you have an open sell order on a specific holding, you cannot pledge it until the sell order is completed or cancelled.
  • T+1 Holding: Shares purchased recently (usually within the last trading day) might not be reflected in your Demat account yet (T+1 settlement). Once credited, they will be eligible for pledging.
  • Broker Limit Reached: You might have reached the maximum permissible value of pledged holdings allowed by us.
