What happens during the pre-open market session?
- Entry Session (9:00 am to 9:08 am): During this time, you can place an order to buy and sell stocks. You can also modify or cancel during this time. After this period, no orders are accepted
- Order Matching Session (9:08 am to 9:12 am): During this time, the exchange performs order confirmation, order matching, and calculates the opening price of stocks for the normal session. During this time, you cannot buy, sell, cancel, or modify your order
- Buffer Session (9:12 am to 9:15 am): This is the transition period from pre-open to regular market session. It is used as a buffer to address any gaps in order entry and order matching sessions
