All shareholders of a company who own the shares on the record date are eligible for a buyback. If you intend to buy stocks to apply for a stock buyback, ensure that the shares are bought using the delivery product type, as only stocks that have been credited to the demat account are considered for a buyback. 

Note: 

• Stocks held in Margin Trading (MTF) account will not be eligible for buyback, so to be eligible for buyback free DP Stocks can be tendered in the buyback

• If you haven’t activated your DDPI, you must complete the authorization by entering TPIN. Otherwise, your shares will not be considered for the buyback
