How do I understand a contract note?
The details in a contract note can be used to verify trades at the exchange. The contract note gives you the details for the trades as follows:
- Number: It shows the exchange order number
- Order Time: It shows the timestamp of when the order was placed
- Trade Number: It shows the trade number on the exchange
- Trade Time: It shows the timestamp of when the order was successfully at the exchange
- Security or Contract Description: It shows the stock or instrument for which the order was placed
- Buy/Sell: It mentions the transaction type
- Gross Rate or Trade Price per Unit (₹): It shows the price at which the order got executed
- The Net Rate per Unit (₹): It is similar to the gross rate per unit.
- Net Total (Before Levies): It shows the total amount due to the client or from the client before brokerage and taxes
