How do I close my demat account?

Important: Once you close your demat account with us you will not be able to open a new account 

If you don’t have any holdings,

Tap the Contact Support button below.

Download the form, fill it digitally, and esign it using DigiLocker. Tap here to know how.

Download the esigned form, tap your profile picture> Help Center> View Tickets

Select the ticket that says Account Closure, upload the esigned form and submit it.

If you have holdings,

Tap the Contact Support button below.

Download the account closure form and DIS form and fill it out digitally.

Download the Client Master Report (CMR) of the broker you want to transfer your holdings to. Make sure the CMR is signed by the official of that broker.

Sign on a blank paper and scan the signature.

Merge the account closure form, DIS form, your signature scan, and CMR copy, and esign it using DigiLocker. Tap here to know how.

Download the esigned form, tap your profile picture> Help Center> View Tickets

Select the ticket that says Account Closure, upload the merged document and submit it.

Alternatively, you can also courier the esigned form to the below address:

Once you’ve submitted the form, we’ll close your account within 3 working days. 

Note: If the holding pattern or financial instruments under your Share.Market demat account and the demat account you’re transferring your shares to are the same, you don’t need to share the DIS form.
